Leave A Legacy
Walton Thompson built his legacy as a Merchant Marine, husband, brother, uncle and friend. He had a kind soul, generous heart and was loved by many. He believed in people wanting to make a difference, dreaming big and making a positive impact on the world around them. He was the epitome of kindness and led by example; especially in 2012 when he would end up helping make dreams a reality for Scott and Cathy.
Walton Thompson owned a 160-acre farm near Crimora, VA. When he met Scott and Cathy, his farm was not for sale. After hearing their vision for Creative Works Farm and Camp LIGHT, he decided to donate a portion of the acreage and sold them the rest at a very reasonable cost. After a few years of payments, Walton forgave the note and all 160-acres are now owned by Creative Works Farm, debt free.
Walton expanded his legacy to the entire community by supporting the future of Creative Works Farm and Camp LIGHT when it was just a vision. Thanks to his generosity, Creative Works Farm can continue to make a difference in the community and positively impact the lives of others. We will continue to honor Walton and the land he so graciously shared with us. Generations to come will hear his story and the legacy he left behind, and what a wonderful legacy it is.
