Camp LIGHT is a summer camp for individuals with special needs and at risk youth. LIGHT stands for Love, Inspire, Give Hope, Teach.
Thanks to the volunteers from DuPont Community Cre Thanks to the volunteers from DuPont Community Credit Union who spent the morning with us getting Camp LIGHT’s archery fence repainted, and weeding and spring cleaning at the barn. We appreciate you so much!
Camp LIGHT’s open house and resource fair is tomor Camp LIGHT’s open house and resource fair is tomorrow! Stop by any time between 1pm and 4pm this Sat April 11th for lots of fun! See what’s new, learn about camp, play some games, enjoy snacks, and much more! We will also have a resource fair with lots of amazing local organizations that serve our special needs community set up. This is a free event open to the public. 107 Creative Works Lane, Waynesboro. We hope to see you there!
Open house is coming up soon! Come out Sat April Open house is coming up soon! Come out Sat April 11th any time between 1pm and 4pm for lots of fun! This is a free event open to the public...whether you are a new family interested in camp, a returning family, someone interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities, or just curious what Camp LIGHT is all about, all are welcome. Our resource fair during the event will have over 17 organizations represented...be sure to check them all out!
We have made great progress on the dining hall for We have made great progress on the dining hall for Camp LIGHT! Big thank you to all of the volunteers who helped get the Metwood suspension flooring set this week, including Metwood Building Solutions, Glass Innovations, Inc., Mark Battle and Main Frame Builders, Inc, and many others. If you missed out and still want to volunteer, we are looking for help this weekend, Saturday March 14 starting at 8am. We will be installing the remainder of the fasteners and tying down rebar—ONLY 365 pieces of rebar…we sure could use the help! Text or call Scott at 540-457-4000 if you plan on coming by to help.

We are incredibly grateful to Nate from Scout Troo We are incredibly grateful to Nate from Scout Troop #84 for blessing Camp LIGHT with an amazing new water balloon station! For his Eagle Scout project, Nate designed and built a custom station that allows up to seven campers to fill water balloons at once — including a lower, wheelchair-accessible nozzle so everyone can join in the fun. Projects like this make a lasting impact on our campers, and we can’t thank Nate enough for his hard work, thoughtfulness, and dedication. Now we’re just waiting on warmer weather so the balloon battles can begin! 🌞

We are excited to introduce our ambassador camper We are excited to introduce our ambassador camper and his family for our Camp LIGHT Live Charity Auction 2026! Benji has been coming to Camp LIGHT for the past few years, and always brings a positive spirit and lots of smiles everywhere he goes. He is a joyful, faith-filled man who loves Jesus and is very involved in his church and community. He lives with his sister Rachel (his “baby sister”) and loves life with his two cats, Smitten and Speckles, and his little buddy, Stella the Shih Tzu. Benji enjoys spending time with his dad Ronald, his sister Susan and his “blother”-in-law Randy, and friends. Benji loves making music – playing drums at home to his favorite CDs, conga drums at church, and puppeteering with his Every Praise Choir. He stays active exercising or cleaning at F45 Staunton and through Special Olympics soccer skills and bowling. At Church on the Hill, you’ll often find him involved with the Special Disciples ministry. He enjoys community engagement with ARC of Augusta several days a week; volunteering at LOVE, Inc. and participating in Fridays with Friends at the Augusta County Library. In his downtime, Benji enjoys cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, coloring and drawing while watching Gospel Bill or old westerns, and he dreams of owning a farm someday with two goats, one cow, and chickens. During the summer, Benji looks forward to attending Camp LIGHT, where he builds friendships, and comes home each day excited to share stories about all the fun he had with his friends. Camp LIGHT is a special place where Benji feels welcomed, encouraged, and deeply loved. Join us at this year’s auction on Saturday May 2nd to meet Benji and his family while we raise money for Camp LIGHT. Tickets are $50 per person, which includes appetizers and drinks, catered dinner, followed by a few words from our ambassador family and our executive director before the live auction begins.
